Quality Assurance Associate - Temp to Hire (Salary Range $63,000-$67,000)

Purpose of Position:

As a key member of the Quality Food Safety and Compliance Team, assists in implementing and managing internal GMPs. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will function as the HACCP Coordinator and will be responsible for leading the HACCP Team and overseeing the HACCP food safety plan. This individual will partner with all members in the workforce to write, validate, and ensure that the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Programs are maintained. Provide prompt and detailed follow-up to all internal and external customers including customer survey responses and customer complaint investigations.


  • Oversee the HACCP food safety program to identify biological, chemical, and physical hazards and risks within raw materials and production processes and implement control points and critical control points to manage these risks.

  • Assist with evaluating activities related to Food Safety Programs to comply with city, state, federal, and international regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct and support regulatory, external, and internal food safety and quality audits.

  • Prepare and cultivate a zero-safety incident mentality throughout the facility.

  • Ensure Quality System programs, processes, and procedures are implemented successfully and function as designed throughout the operation in order to ensure the quality and integrity of manufactured products and services.

  • Conduct root cause analysis on defective materials, audits, and fulfill corrective action plans.

  • Track and trend food safety, quality, and compliance metrics and present to Food Safety and HACCP teams.

  • Ensure consistent and thorough follow-up to non-conformities as it relates to quality food safety.

  • Help maintain a root cause database and provide feedback to customers when required.

  • Assess and suggest modifications to improve the efficiency of the internal GMP program.

  • Oversee environmental monitoring program swab samples per sampling schedule.

  • Facilitate new hire training, on-going procedural training, and safety training.

  • Work with management and temporary staffing agency to ensure all training is completed in timely fashion.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, manufacturing or related field or equivalent work experience

  • HACCP experience required

  • Food Safety Management System (GFSI recognized) experience required

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical QA/QC lab environment for the food, pharmaceutical, or related industry preferred

  • Audit experience (regulatory, external, and internal) preferred

  • Leadership: A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • Ability to speak candidly and provide constructive feedback.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Demonstrated organization skills.

  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing work environment.
