CU Medicine is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support tothe University Of Colorado School Of Medicine's nearly 3,000 providers. Weare seeking a highly motivated Patient Service Representative to join ourteam.The purpose of the Patient Service Representative is to elevate the Universityof Colorado patient experience by addressing questions and concerns mainly viaphone but also includes fielding correspondence requests in a call centerenvironment. The individual in this position will handle and bring resolutionfor up to 60 calls per day from callers including but not limited topatients, affiliate partners, payers, and healthcare providers. Interactin a positive, caring manner when communicating. Collect payments and/oroffer and set-up payment arrangements on outstanding balances. Utilizeanalytical thinking for account research and reconciliation, update accountswith new or corrected information and request itemized statements or re-billclaims when appropriate. Explain medical bill and identify deductible,coinsurance, copays and other patient financial responsibility. Performsspecialized tasks as assigned by the manager and/or supervisor.Requires high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years'healthcare experience, preferred 2 years of medical billing and directpatient contact in call center environment with exposure to insurance billingand medical terminology. Must be technically proficient. Requires advancedverbal and written communication skills. Must possess strong interpersonalskills. Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgment areessential.
