Weare seeking a highly motivated Patient Affairs Coordinator to join our teamand support the Department of Surgery and Division of GITES and SurgicalOncoloThe Patient Affairs Coordinator will provide administrative support tophysicians as it relates to the management of day to day interactions with ourpatient population and will perform a broad spectrum of duties related to theeffective and efficient overall function of the Department.Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Serve as a liaison between patients and physicians for all non-clinicalissues. Coordinate day to day calendars and logistics for assigned physicians. Schedule surgical procedures and clinic appointments. Complete referral and authorization checks. Verify all relevant documentation and lab results are available prior tosurgery and received by all appropriate parties (hospital admissions,pre-anesthesia, insurance carriers, etc.). Triage and coordinate patient referrals from community and affiliateproviders. Schedule and/or attend various key meetings related to theaccomplishments of the Department's clinical activities. Generate correspondence and distribute to patients and referring physicians. Confirm upcoming patient appointments. Provide cross-coverage as required for other office administrative roles. Answer patient calls. Perform broad range of high level administrative duties. Assist with special projects as assigned.Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years'experience in a health-care setting including exposure to complex patientscheduling in an electronic medical record system; bachelor's degreeand/or EPIC experience is highly preferred. Must demonstrate expertise withvarious computer programs including all MS Office Suite applications. Highlevel verbal and written communication in conjunction with professionaltelephone etiquette is essential. Must have superior editing and writingabilities suitable for academic standards. Exceptional customer serviceskills with the ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times and workwith diversified customer clientele is required. Must be flexible and capableof handling multiple and shifting priorities. The ability to handle sensitiveinformation in a confidential manner is required. Must demonstrate theability to act independently, have excellent interpersonal skills, and beable to maintain positive working relationships.
