Intelligent Waves LLC Hardware/Infrastructure Engineer in Aurora, Colorado
Intelligent Waves, a rapidly growing Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has an immediate need for a Hardware/Infrastructure Engineer position to support our mission critical work for our government customers. The ideal candidate will possess experience in multiple areas of Information Technology (IT) such as infrastructure, services, DevSecOps tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Containerization, COTS integration, and have experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. The candidate will join the Research and Integration Division (RaID) of Intelligent Waves (IW) and support DoD & Federal Government customers on long-term projects.
Location & Travel: This Hardware/Infrastructure Engineer position is based in Aurora, CO. Minimal travel is expected and will be reimbursed based on GSA Per Diem rates and DoD Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
- Security Clearance: This Hardware/Infrastructure Engineer position must be a United States Citizen and hold a current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility and must have an Active Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collect and interpret customer requirements into an overall infrastructure service design.
Perform IT system administration using Windows (Server) and Linux (RedHat) systems, in addition to performing security hardening on all required components.
Perform network administration using both on-premise and cloud networking capabilities.
Perform any required assessment of infrastructure design artifacts and perform updates as required via the change management process.
Have experience and knowledge in all aspects of infrastructure services such as compute resources, storage appliances, networking, cyber security, and virtualization and cloud environments.
Support requirements analysis, peer review, Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and Critical Design Review (CDR) boards
Work with development teams to help create automation scripts for infrastructure builds; this requires knowledge and experience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Leverage DevOps tools such as Chef and Ansible to help automate, deploy, and configure all respective hosts and applications.
Leverage Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) capabilities and provide integration support as deemed necessary.
Work in a dynamic, cross-functional, and multidiscipline technical team to plan, design, and implement hardware and/or capabilities that meets system and/or system sub-component requirements.
Develop documentation and perform integration and testing of hardware and software platforms to ensure proper functionality.
Perform Software Process and Code Peer Review.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related scientific or technical discipline
Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment
Ability to physically install and interconnect IT equipment in a customer datacenter
Must have minimum 4 years’ experience with Engineering Principles; Infrastructure, and Hardware Engineering (Deployment and Integration efforts)
DoD 8570 Certification (Security+ CE)
Expertise with Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, Engineering Technology, General Engineering, Software Engineering
Experience working in large and dynamic server farms and networks
Knowledge with Agile principles (DevOps and Continuous Integration)
Must have Python programming experience.
Other desirable programming and scripting skills: Perl, Bash, XML, YML, PowerShell.
Should have Enterprise Level Cloud Architecture/Implementation experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Should have DevSecOps, IaC, and Containerization experience.
Must have experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) tools; specifically, but not limited to Kubernetes, Docker (DTR/UCP), and GIT.
Other desirable skills: Jenkins, Oracle WebLogic, TortoiseSVN.
Must have experience with applying NIST and DISA security controls based of US Government standards.
Must have LDAP, Network Administration, and Windows/Linux Scripting.
Experience with using the Microsoft Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio.
