Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Shift Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervise a department manager and staff to ensure that all materials are handled correctly and that all machines and equipment are operated safely and according to instructions.
Develops and recommends improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
Directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw material and finished goods inventories.
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of professional and para-professional staff so the organization has access to the materials and inputs it needs to operate, and so all materials and goods are handled, stored and distributed safely, cost-effectively, and on-time.
Coordinate with location management recruiting, training, performance reviews, and discipline.
Perform communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, coaching, and disciplining associates.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience is typically required to perform at expectation. Applies advanced knowledge of specific technical areas.
Previous WMS / Highjump experience is required
Previous TMS / Mercury Gate experience is preferred
Previous routing software / Dispatch Track experience is preferred
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
Ability to effectively operate motorized and/or manual lifting devices.
Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.
Requires getting into positions such as kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50 lbs. by hand.
