Defense Commissary Agency Sales Store Checker in Air Force Academy, Colorado

Summary

DeCA operates a worldwide commissary system that provides quality grocery products to active duty military personnel and retirees, members of the Reserve and National Guard, and their families, as well as current DeCA employees. Responsibilities

Operate an electronic checkout system, makes change, and verifies change fund and amount of currency received during an assigned shift. Manage change machines ensuring proper amounts of cash and coins are available. Assist customers by answering questions concerning prices, identification, and location of items. Count cash and negotiable instruments and to prepare an accountability report. Manage the self-check-out registers assisting customers in the correct processing of their purchases. Change register tape, and clear routine equipment and scanning jams on registers.

Qualifications

In accordance with the Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, http://www.opm.gov/gualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-cler.asp applications must include at least six months of general experience OR one full year of education beyond the high school level that has been completed in an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university OR a qualifying combination of experience and education. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Examples of specialized experience include: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to perform the duties of Sales Store Checker.
